Maranda Nybo, IBCLC, CBE, Doula

Maranda has been in the birth and breastfeeding circle for over 24 years.  She got her start in lactation as a La Leche League Leader. Her passion for birth led her to become a doula as well.  She joined WIC at the Health Department as a peer counselor and became a lactation counselor shortly after.  She worked for WIC for about 10 years.  Maranda decided to start her journey to become an IBCLC in 2010 and sat for the exam in 2011.  After passing she was the firth non-RN IBCLC to be hired at Gulfport Memorial.  She worked for Gulfport Memorial for 8 years with new moms and babies and also with NICU moms and babies.  After leaving the hospital setting in 2021, she joined Stephanie Gable at Gulf Coast Breastfeeding Center LLC.  In 2023 Stephanie retired and “Gifted” the business to Maranda Nybo as the sole owner and operator.  So, Maranda is currently the proud owner of GCBC.  She teaches Childbirth and breastfeeding classes along with new parenting classes.  She also helps mom reach their breastfeeding goals without judgment.

History of GCBC

GCBC was founded by Stephanie Gable, RN, IBCLC (pictured below) after many conversations with mothers who voiced the desire for a community-based breastfeeding service that didn't involve going "back to the hospital".   GCBC provides a private, calm and clean environment to meet each mother's individual breastfeeding goals.   All services are tailored to the unique needs of each mother and her baby.  Our primary goal is to support, protect, advocate and educate women regarding the benefits of human milk for all babies.
